Trigether is a recognized training club of the national association Swiss Triathlon. We are also a member of the VERSA association, which works to prevent the sexual exploitation of children in sport. We are also a member of the cantonal youth triathlon association Tri Züri.
The following age groups for kids and youth members are defined:
- Kids, up to approx. 8 years (polysportive training)
- Pupils, approx. 9-13 years, also 8 years olds possible (polysportive triathlon training)
- Youth, approx. 14-17 years (triathlon training; possible to participate in selected trainings of our age-groupers)
- Juniors, 18-19 years (triathlon training, also with our age-groupers)
By building our training groups we will also take into account biological age, experience in triathlon and the individual goals. We are happy to identify the most suitable trainings together with you. Thanks to our coaching team we can take care of the young athletes individually.
The young members are involved in the training design. More information on this can be found below under the philosophy of our coaching approach.
EVENTS
At the beginning of each year we will define together which competitions we would like to take part in (Kids Triathlons, Regio League, Youth League), appropriate for each age. In addition, we will also attend running races and organize our own small fun competitions in other sports. Participation is voluntary. We want to promote team spirit with other activities outside the training, too. The Young Tigers and their parents can also take part in the social events of trigether.
PHILOSOPHIE
Triathlon is a youth sport
Triathlon? Triathlon! There are hardly any sports that are as suitable for young people as triathlon. With swimming, cycling and running, this multi-sport already provides the versatile training that is central to the development of sports motor skills at a young age. We attach great importance to first practicing the individual movement patterns in the training sessions before we also improve the endurance skills as the participants get older. In this approach we also integrate other sports such as mountain biking, cross-country skiing, orienteering or inline skating. And of course, there is no lack of fun team sports that promote team spirit. This versatile training enables the young people to experience success in different areas, which ensures a lasting enthusiasm for the (multi-)sport.
Triathlon is healthy and beneficial
Versatile training promotes health because it strengthens the body holistically and thus prevents overload symptoms caused by one-sided stress. The safety gained in training is also useful in other recreational activities and lets parents sleep peacefully:
a) Safe swimming in pools and lakes.
b) Safe cycling alone and in groups, in traffic and offroad
c) Efficient running technique and thus injury prevention
Triathlon supports personal development
It is important to us to enable the young people to set their own goals in sports and to pursue them independently. They should be involved in the planning of training and competitions, on the other hand they should be able to listen to themselves and develop a healthy perception of their own body. We want to help young people grow into independent, responsible adults who can focus on a personal goal and at the same time help shape their environment in a sustainable way. To this end, we want to promote the idea of teamwork: What can I contribute to the group, where should I get support? Selected social events promote the sense of community and let you feel the motto of our club: Trigether - Triathlon together.
Triathlon is open to all
Our training sessions and activities are designed to be age-appropriate and cater to athletes of all levels. We want to encourage young people regardless of their goals, be it to experience triathlon as an experience or to excel in competitions. In the medium term, we also aim to help shape the young people's environment with sports-friendly schools and apprenticeships.

As a qualified triathlon coach and successful age group triathlete with roots in track and field, I love the variety in sport sessions. Every training is different, also including the inputs of the participants. A consistent plan in the background ensures that progress becomes visible and leads to happy kids. In my childhood I was able to benefit from many different sports. I am very happy to pass this positive experience on to my own kids and to the Young Tigers.

I discovered endurance sports at the age of 29 when I volunteered at an Ironman - I was immediately fascinated by the athletes. Since then (2009), I have completed over 100 triathlons, many of them with podium finishes. I have completed several coaching courses, studied psychology and now work as a full-time coach - both with individual athletes and with companies.
I also work as a sports teacher at an elementary school and teach physical education to children with cognitive or physical disabilities as part of the city's Movimiento initiative in Zurich.
Working with children brings with it a special energy. In today's environment, the conditions for children to develop their sporting skills are often lacking - which makes support from adults all the more important.

The Zürichberg is a paradise for running und cycling, that is why we combine both in this training - in different forms according to the actual training plan. We have a Finnish track, a Helsana Trail and many forest paths at our disposal. This brings a lot of variety to our running training and makes for a lot of fun! For sure, the paths along the tiger enclosure of the zoo are very special for our Young Tigers (starting with 9 years olds)!

Lots of exercise in the fresh air and endurance sports have always been important to me. Sharing this joy with the children and getting them excited about it is fun at every training session and competition. The alternation of disciplines in triathlon allows us to train in a variety of ways with lots of fun and action. In addition to leading training sessions for the kids, I also try to stay fit and do a lot of mountain biking and running. My own two children (like me) also need a lot of “running”.
